A great night out. Exceptional food. The steak tartare and pate entre's were excellent as were the steak and duck mains. Deserts were also to a high standard with the basil creme brulee adding a surprise ending to the meal. Our service staff were friendly and engaging, particularly Aurelie who is a breath of fresh air. A few soft furnishings would help to tone down the reflected noise in what is otherwise an intimate dining environment.Highly recommended.

La Bastide offer an extensive wine list and sommelier is on hand to assist if you have any questions. Duck was cooked beautifully but unfortunately the chocolate fondant was a tad overcooked.

We tried this French bistro after booking online well in advance, showing up and being told they didn't have our booking but were able to accommodate us anyway as they were not too busy.Upon entering, the colour scheme doesn't seem quite French but the venue is very comfortable and on point for a trendy bistro or wine bar. A minor issue though is that indoors it can get loud with the hard surfaces fully reflecting sound around. The food itself is good, and we kept to the more interesting sharing and entree dishes rather than the mains. It's not gastronome or standout but still pretty delicious nonetheless for a wine bar. On top of that, they have an excellent wine list and the staff are very knowledgeable.Overall a welcome addition to the French bistro scene.

Wow. Love this decor. Lovely ambiance and French music just right. Cool inside and shaded deck outside. Was greeted by owner and had a chat about what they are doing. Sounds like a plan! Good variation and look forward to checking out the rest of the menu another time. All the best to another new venue. Merci!

The service was exceptional. The waitresses took into consideration that I did not speak or read French and had no understanding what was on the menu. They were polite and informative. The wine selection was extensive and also great. If you dine at this restaurant, you must try the duck.

I hate going to a place and the first thing they say to you is you must be out of here within two hours as we need the table again. I know this from the bookings. Then to seat us and we have to wait ten minutes for menus. Another ten for you to come and take our drink order. Ten for them to arrive and we were seated at 530pm with the restaurant mostly empty and numerous staff.Croquettes should be called goujons due to Thier small size. The desserts were an absolute rip off. A simple plate of brulee which was so heavy on the bay leaf flavour and slightly cooked at to high a temp with nothing else. Was such a rip off... Tomato salad, was also a let down with such bland tomatoes even though you used heirlooms... Asparagus was great. Overall not worth nearly $700 for four people...

We had the pleasure of dining at La Bastide for the second time last night. Everything was amazing. The food overall was fresh, well done - classic with a twist - and on very much point for a bistro. For my part, the barramundi served with confit leeks and a champagne beurre blanc was out of this world - so much so I recommended it to the table next to ours. The service was very good too - it’s lovely that there is some French-speaking staff there (as I am French and my children are bilingual) - it made me feel like I was back home, in a lovely neighbourhood bistro, even if it was only for a couple of hours!Well done to the team of people who work there - you all do a sensational job. Finally, it’s so good to see a local business doing well - your success is very well deserved. We will be back next week!

The greeting from the staff member the minute we walked in (still in uniform and clearly on break eating, good! Everyone needs to sit down for lunch!) shows the commitment from the staff as soon as we walked in.Lovely cocktail recommendation when we sat at the bar, not overly in your face service and clearly a team who has a goal in mind and delivers it effortlessly.DELICIOUS steak tartare just served classically, clearly a lot of maturity in the food department and although the parfait looked very grey (im guessing no nitrates which is actually a great thing for guests no unnecessary chems, piped from a bag I imagine) didn’t look so pretty but tasted super delicious.Again, not trying to prove anything just deliver exceptionally great French bistro with a lovely wine list to boot. Will absolutely be back, so excited to have this in Perth to recommend!

The chef must have been deported because they cannot cook urghh. Small portions need 6 courses to get full, overpriced for the portion size, they serve everything fast to either get rid of you or to sell you more. Having been to France and really enjoyed the food these bastions ruin it I Perth
